The President Welcomes Loved Ones of Injured Military Members to the White House

Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the executive mansion.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Tragic Shooting

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Vigils across the state have been held in their honor.

White House Invitation

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump informed reporters. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Response

Mourners assembled over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both they had been working with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to aid public safety in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that educators desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” Hankins, the principal of her previous school, informed the media. “She was kind, caring and always eager to help others.”

Memorial details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Actions and Policy Revisions

Officials have accused a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The event prompted the government to pause asylum applications and temporarily stop providing entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia governor Morrisey mentioned on television.

Attorney general Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she planned to meet with his relatives.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a MP with excellence, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had courage,” Morrisey told the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
